We have never cut down an olive tree.
Indigenous olive trees grow for centuries and feed the families around them, so they stay standing. Every piece we carve comes from pruned branches — the ethical answer, and the reason the grain is so dense.
Olive wood is hard, oily and slow to dry. Seasoned properly it lasts generations; rushed, it splits. That patience is most of the craft.
